Chief Operating Officer Change Story

I am the sponsor of Phase 1 of the largest transformation my company has embarked on to date, affecting over 80,000 people across the world. We have 18 months to execute and cannot tolerate any slippage or scope creep as subsequent phases are dependent on our timeline.

The initial steering committee meetings have given me pause. We are highly dependent on Consultants for our strategy, timeline and the deliverables we committed to. Consultants also facilitate and assess whether we are progressing.

To me this is a large red flag since I don't see enough "skin in the game" from our senior executives and have no confidence that we as consulting teams pull out, there will be sufficient knowledge and skill transfer for us to reach our goals.
