We were in our 4th year, well funded and at a precipice.
Our strategy called for a buy-out of a competitor that would double our staff and extend our offerings. We were 12 weeks out, and only the founders and a small core team knew what lay ahead. Everyone else was busy with delivery.
We had been too focused on our current state to plan how we were going to execute this integration. It felt like we were about to climb a huge mountain without a map or tools.
